Tiny House Animal Rescue
Tiny House Animal Rescue started in November of 2016. We started the rescue because of a beautiful Holland Lop rabbit named Winston. He was one of the many unfortunate rabbits that are dumped after children grow tired of them. We knew we could not take in animals without financial support from others so we started with a simple website and a go fund me page. We knew that even if we didn't get help we wanted to save as many animals as we were able to. The name "Tiny House Animal Rescue" was decided upon, as our home is very small, but even with the small space we wanted to open up our home to as many as possible. Soon after making a Facebook page, people began contacting us asking us to take kittens, cats, bunnies and chickens. We were so fortunate to always receive just enough help when we needed it most! Thanks to the help of so many kind souls, we have spayed, neutered and done all needed vetting for 19 animals! Our rescue is taking smaller animals in now such as rabbits and guinea pigs. We have somehow become more of a rabbit rescue in the last year and half and I think our love for rabbits has led to better understanding of this highly misunderstood animal. They are very much in need of shelter and vet care as they are commonly dumped after their behaviors are deemed to be distasteful. Many people don't understand how crucial it is to spay and neuter rabbits and that their vet care is very expensive and usually always more than a dog or cat. In spite of our small home we are providing the rabbits that live here and the ones that we adopt out beautiful amazing homes! We have found successful forever homes for 14 of the animals we have rescued and we are so very grateful for all the help we receive.
