Archie's Medical Care

Archie was a healthy child until 9 May everything changed. He was 18 months old and caught a virus which his body had a reaction to and made his spinal cord swell up. His condition is called transverse myelitis. The swelling has now gone down but unfortunately it has permantly damaged the spinal cord, he is now paralysed from the neck down and he has a tracheostomy fitted as he cant breath unaided. He's had problems with his heart and now has a pacemaker fitted. Due to the unpredictability of Archie's condition, we have had to move back home with our parents as unfortunately we could no longer afford to keep up our home and constantly be at our son's side. Archie will require lots of specialist medical equipment such as a modified wheelchair for when he is able to leave hospital, as well as a home suitable  for Archie - which will need adaptions such, as a wet room for a bathroom and space for such equipment. Also Archie will have to go to rehabilitation which is in Surrey and he don't want to leave his dad and brothers behind.
