Cartagena Paws is a 501c3 non-for-profit organization working hard to save the innocent lives of street animals in Cartagena, Colombia.We have 3 new rescues who are looking to fly to their forever homes! Mona is a 3 year old female mix who has spent her life on the streets of Cartagena, close to a University, being abused and neglected. After many people kicked her out of the way and she curled into a helpless submissive ball, pleading for mercy, a young woman named Caro fromCartagena Paws, was able to rescue her and take her far away from the dangerous people abusing her. Mona has been at the vet receiving treatments, tests, vaccines, and surgeries for over a month now and is ready to fly home. There is more to the story. Mona has given birth to 3 litters. All of her babies have been stolen from her or run over in the street, except for baby Chula. Baby Chula is her only surviving daughter and we are flying them home together, where they will be adopted together in Boston, MA. Sam, is our other very friendly rescue dog who was found sitting in a muddy ditch in Centro Cartagena with a huge wound in his back. The maggots that were eating their way through his skin made him very uncomfortable, and he required immediate medical care. Sam is healing nicely and we will be flying him to the USA also this month.These 3 rescues need our help. Sam, Mona, and Chula have been through a lot and want to get home to their forever homes. Since they are new rescues who have a past of neglect, Mona and Sam will be unable to fly home in cabin, and therefore their journey home will be via cargo. Chula will hopefully be able to fly in cabin. The cost for their cargo airfare, additional medical tests and vaccines, paperwork, and crates to travel is just under 2,000 USD. We know that this is a lot of money, but it is saving 3 lives, so we must fight for them. These special souls will be flying out before the end of the month and we only have 2 weeks to fundraise.
