Save A Grave in Berkeley County

Donation protected

From recent history to decades or even centuries past, cemeteries house information which aids genealogical studies and historical research of an area.  Cemeteries are places to visit with our lost loved ones and missed friends of our lifetimes, but they also house many departed who no longer have loved ones to care for their final resting place.  Toppled, broken, vandalized, and dirty  headstones litter these serene settings and radiate disarray outside the gates and into the community-at-large.   Save A Grave is a cemetery preservation project of the Berkeley County Historical Society (an all-volunteer organization) in Martinsburg, West Virginia.  The goal of the program is to educate, raise awareness for, and carry out preservations in, the 161 cemeteries located within Berkeley County; one which houses the burial site of Morgan Morgan.  An on-going cemetery preservation program could be realized by the support of volunteer efforts and monetary donations.  Find us on facebook by searching "Save a  Grave in Berkeley County"  or e-mail [email redacted] to sign up for volunteer efforts.
