Black Panther Challenge Lansing, MI

Hey everyone! My name is Jim Phan, a resident of Lansing, MI and current student at Grand Valley State University. My friend Howard Johnson and I are teaming up to take part in the #BlackPantherChallenge. We both grew up in Lansing, so we’re doing this to give back to our community. Ideally, our goal is to get as many children as possible in the Greater Lansing area that feel marginalized, unprivileged, or underrepresented in theaters to see Black Panther!

For us and many others, Black Panther is more than just a Superhero ComicBook movie. This is a film that will have a cultural impact like none others' because many throughout our community (primarily those of color) will finally see themselves represented. Additionally, the fact that this film will be the first superohero blockbuster that will feature a predominately black cast speaks volumes!


Frederick Joseph started the challenge in New York City to raise funds for kids in NYC to see the Black Panther movie. Join us as we follow in his and many others foot steps! 

We plan on reaching out to local organizations, community centers, and schools throughout our community.

All proceeds from this campaign will pay for the screening tickets for children and chaperones. We want to thank everyone in advance for the support!
