For those of you who don't know, Brett was recently diagnosed with chronic Myeloid Leukemia. This horrific situation was unexpected and still unpredictable.
Brett was admitted to the emergency room on Wednesday, August 10th. The same day he was transferred to Chapel Hill under the impression he was severally sick, due to abnormal blood work. This included low hemoglobin's and red blood cells and elevated white blood cells and platelets as well as an unknown fever of 102 that is referred to as a FUO.
Currently we are still here with Brett at Chapel Hill with the hopes of going home soon with the proper treatment to put this disease in remission so he can continue a normal life.
Those of you who know Brett, knows how strong, hard working, outgoing and caring he is. The type of person that gets more joy out of making others smile and laugh. The person who puts his family and love for others beyond his own needs. The person I know that I'm privileged and fortunate to have in my life.
I ask everyone to please come together and help support him during this hard time with prayers courageing words and thoughts. Help support him financially with medical bills and housing during this time. Every little bit counts!
