HURRICANE HELP FOR CHANTAL, HAITI

 Please help! The need is critical and urgent!  Donate  immediately to provide medicine against cholera and typhoid and to rebuild homes for thousands of families left homeless by the storm which blew away their roofs and gutted the insides!

THE NEED: Our beautiful village is gone, blown away by Hurricane Matthew. We were once a thriving agricultural village.
     The destruction is catastrophic, worse than that caused by the 2010 earthquake from which we had fully recovered.  It is all gone now. Photos after and before the storm show the extent of the damage,Thousands of children and their families are homeless. 
       90% of homes - like the one seen above in a photo before the hurricane with the bike in front of it --are destroyed, they now look like the  home at the top. Schools are destroyed. The church roof is gone.  The staff housing for the medical dispensary, once a graceful building with a beautiful garden as shown above, has been destroyed and its solar power array was blown away.  The livestock, the trees that provided food  (breadfruit, mango, papaya, banana, coconut, and pigeon peas) and also a source of market income, and the rice crop for this year are gone.
Over 100 people are dead and hundreds are still missing. 

HOW WILL YOUR DONATION BE USED: Your donation will  provide direct relief: desperately needed medicine and the funds needed for repairs and food in Chantal, Haiti.   Every penny will go to immediate aid on the ground.  We have a tested and trusted partnership with the nuns who run the village dispensary with whom WeCareToShare has had a long relationship.
     Chantal had catastrophic damage from Hurricane Matthew and the people are in trouble.  We believe that working together we can help to make a difference! 
   
     VALUE FOR YOUR DOLLARS:
COMBAT  HUNGER Provide a 50 lb bag of protein powder: $170 USD.
       The livestock, and the fruit trees that fed so many people with bananas, mangoes, coconuts, and breadfruit are all destroyed.  The rice crop  was washed away.
          
RESTORE SHELTER:Provide a new roof for a family: $300 USD.
      People need help to repair their homes: a roof for a house costs an overwhelming  fortune to a Chantal rice farmer.

     PROVIDE MEDICINE: Provide an order of prescription medicine for the dispensary: $4000.     
        Because of flooding, cholera and typhoid will be once again on the rise.
