Hello,
Welcome to my online fundraising campaign.
My name is Carl Stone, I am an experienced
Drafter, Designer, Machinist, and Fabricator.
I am raising funds to outfit a small machine and
fabrication shop of my own to continue earning
a living, in response to a decade of industry layoffs
working in other larger shops.
In 2006 during an industry layoff from the Railcar
Manufacturing Industry as a Machinist I was informed
that I had achieved a higher level of formal education
and Industrial Work Experience than that once held by
the late inventor Thomas Alva Edison during the height
of his career while working at General Electric with
Nikola Tesla. In addition, I was told that the time has
come for me to outfit my own small shop instead of
looking for my next industry layoff, this appeals to me
greatly but after a decade of industry layoffs and a
rather messy divorce I am left without the funds or
resources to do the above. So I have put this online
fundraising campaign together and I have been
researching other ways to assemble the needed
resources moving forward as well.
I could seriously use some public support to get this
small shop outfitted and up and running since banks
and other lenders are not lending for new business
start-ups of any kind these days. A few of them I spoke
to found my efforts inspiring and although they couldn't
help me with a small business loan, suggested I try the
crowdfunding approach to raising the needed funds to
outfit my small machine and fabrication shop.
Funds are needed to buy tools and equipment such
as a manual vertical mill and toolroom lathe, and
associated tooling and fixtures. I have identified
sources for the needed tools and equipment but
they don't just give such things away, it's going to
take a bit of money to purchase the needed tools
and equipment to outfit my shop and set all of this
in motion moving forward.
Any and all help to get this small shop up and running
is much appreciated. I would like nothing more than
to get back to work making and selling things.
I cannot compete with other companies or
large corporations on a global scale, but what
I can do is practice and preserve the skills
and machine shop practices that I was taught
and developed a passion for as a younger man.
I have an open door policy and I welcome any and all
questions and concerns about what I am trying to
accomplish here with this online fundraising campaign.
If you have any questions you can feel free to contact
me from this page or message me on Facebook.
