New Caroga Lake Firehouse

Donation protected

We have out outgrown our current firehouse so we are seeking some donations to help fund our new firehouse. The Caroga Lake Volunteer Fire Department specializes in everything from structural firefighting, EMS, vehicle extrication, search & rescue, Ice Rescue and Fire Prevention for the Town of Caroga, Bleeker-of Fulton County, Arietta-Hamilton County and helping the surrounding towns with mutual Aid. The Total Fire Protection District covers100 square miles.

The department was founded in 1951 by Charles Putman with a hand full of concerned citizens and one truck. The current building was completed shortly after that and has housed the department for more than 60 years. The diverse nature of our response has made it necessary for us to obtain specialized equipment and become proficient in many different methods of rescue and firefighting. We have 45 active members and we have finally outgrown our firehouse.

We have been planning a Capital Project since 2006 to build a new station that will better house our equipment and apparatus. We have been working with our architect and have a tentative floor plan and intend to begin construction in the spring of 2017. The building committee has worked very hard to limit the effect of this project on the tax payers.

With the help of generous people and GoFundMe we hope to be closer to our goal and make the firehouse a soon to be reality!

Thanks for your donation!
