Dr. Casey Drawert's Memorial Fund

Yesterday, two children lost their mommy. Thousands of patients lost their doctor, and people around the world started grieving the loss of Dr. Casey Drawert, who was a strong, independent critical care anesthesiologist and mother. No one is immune to domestic violence. We, as her family, are hesitant to start this funding page because the needs are not yet known in the midst of such a tragedy. 

This money will be used to care for these beautiful children: to feed them, to get them appropriate therapy, to get them through college, to provide for them what Casey would have in the upcoming years.

Please know that the children are safe and will be forever cared for and loved unconditionally.  Their mother's stories of saving so many patients' lives will be told. Her love for learning and for people will be instilled in her children through the testimonies that are already flooding in. Her vibrant personality will live on in these tales.  And, of course, her medical knowledge will live on in the residents and students she helped to train.  

We also hope that through this fundraising, Casey will be able to continue to help others, as we guarantee that any funds raised in excess of her family's immediate needs (e.g., funeral expenses) and that of her children's needs will go directly to support domestic violence awareness and to start a campaign in honor of Casey. The details are evolving, but know that her family, friends, colleagues, and acquaintances will stand behind every dollar to ensure lives are enriched and possibly saved as a result of these efforts.
