Chris Compton

Recently Chris Compton endured serious and unexpected  surgery.  With a painful and extended recovery process, with more surgery to come, he is unable to work either of his 2 jobs.  His landscaping business and his bartending job at Chrone’s in Mountainside where for over 20 years Chris has been a fixture of friendship and good cheer will have to be put on hold.  His surgery and the long recovery period means that the family is enduring the loss of significant amount of income now and for many months to come.  Long term Chris will not be able to continue with both jobs and the family will need to make significant adjustments.

Those of you in the local baseball community know Chris for his active involvement and support over the years.  Anyone who has visited Chrone's for some relaxation and refreshment knows him for his work behind the bar and his friendly easy manner that makes everyone feel at home.  His wonderful three children and his wife Trish, a teacher in the Cranford  School District,  have all shown strong character and grace during these challenging times.  Financially, this is a double hit that they could not have been prepared for.  I hope those of us who know them, those of us who take pride in the goodness of the communities we live in, can generously give them a hand.
