Let's Help Pay Dahntay Jones Fines
Donation protected
Hi. My name is Ricky and I'm a huge Cleveland sports fan. My hometown basketball team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, are currently in the NBA Playoffs. They won the championship last year and are currently looking to repeat. Of course everyone knows LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, JR Smith, Tristian Thompson. People are familiar with the owner Dan Gilbert, the coach Tyrone Lue, the mascots, the in-game announcers, the Cavs girls, the Scream Team, the PA Announcers. But not many people (outside the NBA commissioner's office) know much about current Cavs player Dahntay Jones situation.
Dahntay Jones was signed right before this year's playoffs and is scheduled to make $9,127. Through the first two rounds of the current NBA playoffs, he's been fined $6,000 in 3 total mins of play. That breaks down to be $2,000 a minute that he (technically) has played to pay.
Here's the thing, yes I know he's an NBA player with more money sitting in the bank than any of us will ever have. Yes, I know Lebron has agreed to pay his fines this year (and last year as well. Yup. Repeat offender.) Yes, maybe he could avoid all of this by simply 'NOT GETTING FINED AND KICKED OUT OF GAMES' but all I know is no Cleveland Cavalier team has EVER won an NBA Championship without Dahntay Jones on its roster. Look it up. Go ahead. It's a fact. Hell, I'll go a step further, NO NBA TEAM HAS COME BACK FROM A 3-1 DEFICIT IN THE NBA FINALS WITHOUT DAHNTAY JONES SITTING ON ITS BENCH.
So we, as Cleveland Cavalier fans can sit and wait for Jones to get fined and King James to bail him out. OR we can be proactive and let Dahntay know ahead of time what infractions he can and can not do based up the money we come up with. Think of it as putting money on his books, pre-paid fines, paying for ones in game sins. Donate if you want, donate if you can, donate as you see fit. But at the end of the day, we owe it to Dahntay Jones, the city of Cleveland, and the Cleveland Cavaliers to do all we can to defend the land.
PS Any money not spent on fines will be donated to a charity of Dahntay's choice.
