Damozels & Deities
Donation protected
In 2012 we were involved in the production of ‘Angels & Icons, Pre-Raphaelite Stained Glass, 1850-1870’ by William Waters, featuring photographs by Alastair Carew-Cox. This book was funded by the authors who are keen that Stained Glass becomes regarded as an important art form and that the wealth of glass in British churches, much of which is falling into disrepair,
is brought to the public's attention.
The second book of this two book series, entitled ‘Damozels & Deities, Edward Burne-Jones, Henry Holiday & Pre-Raphaelite Stained Glass, 1870-1898’ is being prepared. It will be lavishly illustrated with professional photographs and will incorporate an index to both volumes.
Without financial help this important work on the Pre-Raphaelites may not be published. Production costs for a book of this quality are prohibitive. William has already produced his meticulously researched text and Alastair has taken the majority of the photographs but funds have now run dry and we are looking for help in order to get the book printed.
You can be part of this project by pledging financial assistance. We have some great rewards in exchange for your donation such as postcards, signed limited edition poster prints of Alastair’s stunning photographs, signed copies of the printed book or a masterclass with Alastair and William.
You can follow our progress on Facebook and Twitter where updates and pictures are being released regularly.
