For as long as I could remember, I would watch with exhilaration, the Miss USA pageants. Year after year, I would dissect, evaluate, and analyze each contestant, as if I were a judge myself. Whether it was the aura of a particular contestant, or the appearance of their attire, I constantly found myself mesmerized. I often thought to myself that these were some of the most confident and courageous women in the world. The way they displayed their elegance and grace was awe-inspiring.
Upon graduation in May of 2010, I decided to pursue my dream in becoming a Miss USA contestant. However, first I would have to compete for the state title of Miss Maryland USA 2011. Although I did not win that year, that weekend was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I gained valuable pageant experience and I was able to network with several consultants. I walked away from that weekend humbled and confident that one day I will achieve this goal.
Three years later, I am ready to compete once again. More motivated, more determined, and more passionate. With the title of Miss Maryland USA, I plan to promote my vision to help our youth conquer issues with obesity, which often stems from physical, mental, and emotional abuse. As a result, adolescent obesity is one of the biggest problems we face in our society today. Growing up, I dealt with these issues, so I understand and value the importance of giving back to those who struggle with the same issues.
As a fitness enthusiast, I am dedicated to ensuring that my body is in the best optimal shape. I am constantly educating myself on various aspects of proper dieting and exercise. Growing up I was not the strongest advocate against obesity, but as I matured, I gained a greater understanding for living a healthier lifestyle. As I cultivated myself inwardly, I began to see the outward change.
That being said, I only have two more months to get ready! This is where you can become a part of my dream. Being in a pageant of this magnitude is exciting and exhilarating and it can be a bit expensive. I am asking for your assistance in achieving this goal by donating to my cause. You can participate and get some recognition by being one of my sponsors. The sponsorship is necessary to help cover the costs of the pageant. My goal is to raise $3500 dollars. On the following page is a chart explaining how I will put your donations to use Registration Fee =$99
Sponsorship Fee (Inc. Hotel, Food, Pageant Activities) =$995
Wardrobe (evening gown, interview attire, bathing suit, shoes etc.) =$2000
Grooming (hair, make-up etc.) =$500
