Dawn’s Final Days

Cancer sucks. Period.

Through all of the chemo, radiation, and sickness Dawn was always able to fight back and get back to what she loves. Swimming, biking, and running. She’s a triathlete through and through. Unfortunately, this is not one of those times.

Two brain surgeries, one round of whole brain radiation, and two rounds of targeted brain radiation later we are now told there are no other options. Dawn’s neuro surgeon says there is a blockage, likely tumor or necrosis, at the base of her skull preventing spinal fluid from leaving her brain. Unfortunately this is not operable when we consider quality of life. 

Dawn is now at home, under the care of hospice, living out her final days to the fullest before one day being too tired to get up. We’re told at that point she will sleep more and more, eventually not getting back up. 

This fund will be used to clear up some medical bills and assist in a final farewell to her, a celebration of life that she has requested. Thank you all for reading, your kind thoughts, and all of the support through this journey.
