DEFIENDE VENEZUELA

Defiende Venezuela is a non-profit organization that aims to defend and promote human rights in Venezuela by raising awareness of and effectively using the existing mechanisms for the protection of human rights before the Inter-American System.

The Inter-American Commission of Human Right’s latest report states that only 43 cases of human rights violations were reported against the Venezuelan government; an extremely low number of cases for a country that is currently facing a extreme human rights crisis. The low number of cases is partly due to a lack of awareness in the country on how victims can request international protection when national grievance mechanisms have failed.

With your collaboration you can help Defiende Venezuela, achieve its goals:
- To provide legal guidance and assistance to victims and their families throughout the process of filling the individual petitions.
- To raise awareness amongst Venezuelans about the existing mechanisms and how victims can submit individual cases before the Commission.
