Monica Del Rio 47 yr.old mother and her 4-year-old daughter Camila were hospitalized in critical condition after L.B firefighters found them lying in bed in a burning Long Beach apartment unit early thursday morning March 26th, 4 yr old Camila was transported to the burn unit atTorrance Memorial hospital and the mother was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center where she later passed away. It is still unknown what caused the fire and it is under investigation, some of the residents who lived in that building said the smoke/fire alarms were not working properly. Meanwhile the family is grieving and still in shock, 4 year old Camila underwent surgery on March 27th, she is improving daily and expected to live. She will require some extensive medical procedures that may costs thosands of dollars, and the family is asking for the public's help. All funds will go directly to the Del Rio family, any donation you can make is greatly appreciated.
UPDATE: April 3rd It is with great saddness in my heart and tears in my eyes to report that sweet 4 yr old Camila passed away April 3rd, she's no longer in pain or suffering, RIP with your mommy my sweet little princess.
