Diamonds In The Rough

Diamonds in the Rough is a team of women who are vying to compete in the International Mines Rescue Competition (IMRC) in Russia this September. We are women from many different workplaces and really want to increase the profile of women in mining and women in non-traditional roles.
In 2016, the IMRC held in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada had ~5 women competing in the Underground portion of the competition. That was less than 3% of the competitors. Women are more than capable to fulfill this role and it is our hope that our participation will give other women the confidence to take on such roles as well as show others that we are just as capable as our brothers.
The funds will be used to help alleviate the costs of training, travel, and equipment necessary for the competition. We will be doing our best to get funding from larger companies as well but currently have no financial contracts with anyone.
Your support is greatly appreciated. From the bottom of our hearts and the deepest pits of our mines, we thank you for your financial support and your cheers along the way.
