National Delegate Dinea Evans

My name is Dinea Evans and I am a National Delegate of Bernie Sanders from Washington State. I am a single mother of two beautiful children. I have a 6 year old daughter named Mya and a 4 year old son named Carter.

I would like to share my story my story with you and how I got involved with politics.
I was approached one night by Wesley Irwin, a paid staffer of the Bernie Sanders campaign, and after talking for a bit he asked me if I heard of Bernie Sanders. I told him I had not and he told me something that touched me deep within, he said "Bernie Sanders is running for President and he marched with the King during the Civil Rights Movement." That happened 11 weeks ago. That is when my life changed.



Shortly after that night I started volunteering at the Pinhurst campaign office, a neighborhood north of Seattle, WA. I spent countless hours doing phone banking, data entry and canvassing.


I was so inspired to learn more about Bernie, his politics and if there was anything I could do to help him get elected. I started spending hours researching his platforms, engaging in political conversations with strangers, posting political content on my social media and contributing to his campaign. I was truly inspired with a new sense of purpose. I was fully activated by the Political Revolution.
Since being activated in this revolution I co-founded the Impossible is Possible Movement which lead to my  arrest  for civil disobedience at a Super Delegate office, submitted my application to be a PCO, helped organize a group of Berniecrats in my legislative district, volunteering as a campaign manager, and volunteering with the call center of Brand New Congress.


While in Philadelphia from July 24th-July 29th I hope to gain more experience on how the democratic process works and understand more of what kind of roll I belong in moving forward in my political destiny.
All of the money will go toward my stay and travel cost to the DNC. They arranged rooms for the National Delegates downtown PA at the Sheraton with almost $400/night, which I hope through this account I will be able to be stay with the others in my state so I can be most effective during the Convention.
I cannot begin to express how grateful I am for the support. I am honored to represent the Washington State in this historic election. FEEL THE BERN!!
