My dad was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia about 6 years ago. This disease rapidly took over his brain which affected his speech and his way of thinking.
Last night after 6 years of a horrible disease, we lost a husband, a dad, a grandfather, a friend, a uncle, and a brother.
Over these past 6 years, my mom has been struggling with the fact that my dad her husband and friend would soon forget who she was and who we were. Most of the time she was in denial of it. She always kept a smile on her face and was always there for him until the end.
My dad was a drummer and a musician and had a passion for it. He worked in the music industry for over 25 years. His grandson loves music and loves to dance. We know that if dad was still around, they would have a great time together and have a special bond together with music.
Any money will be donated in my dad's honor to the Fender Music Foundation to help keep music in schools.
Thank you,
Heather
