Our family has spent the last 5 years chasing our medical system in search of answers to the treatment of Lyme disease. Due to the current protocols in Canada, accurate diagnosis and treatment is often hard to come by. This has not only been a battle that Doug has fought physically but, unfortunately, it has been a political battle which has made the journey very long and difficult. Through alternative medicine, Doug has endured 100s of IV treatments to build his immune system, oral antibiotics and many other therapies. Only a small portion of the treatments are covered by Alberta Health Care and insurance benefits due to the doctor's unwillingness to formally diagnosis Doug with Lyme disease (even with positive blood results from labs in Germany and the US). After much research, we are seeking a more comprehensive, integrative approach to Lyme Disease treatment. As a result, we are gathering funds to visit a clinic in Arizona this February and would be extremely grateful for any contribution you are able to make.
