   One in 4 girls and one in 6 boys will be sexually abused by the time they turn 18. Dove House Children's Advocacy Center is here to start the healing process for these child victims of sexual abuse. We are here to show them that it shouldn't hurt to be a child.

   Dove House Children's Advocacy Center provides a safe child-friendly, home-like environment where the child can tell their story and only has to tell it once. We are currently seeing over 200 cases of child sexual assault each year in Iredell and Alexander Counties.

   Dove House Children's Advocacy Center provides services to child victims of sexual abuse and their non-offending family members from this very special "house" including:

- Forensic interviews of child victims of sexual abuse by a
   highly trained forensic interviewer
- Victim advocacy and support for the child victim and
   non-offending family members throughout the investigation,
   court process and all case actions for as long as the case is
   active
- Multi-Disciplinary Team coordination with all involved agencies
   such as child protective services, district attorney, law
   enforcement, and medical and mental health professionals,
   working together toward the child's healing process as well as
   successful case resolution
- Medical examinations of child victims by physicians and nurses
   who are specially trained in pediatric sexual assault
   examinations.
