The Familia Hernandez Fund

My name is Leticia Callela-Austin and I am a teacher at El Sereno Middle School, an LAUSD school that has been brought together recently due to our district-wide strike. We are a family at ESMS and we have bonded deeply over the last few weeks. We have approximately 70 members at El Sereno Middle school who walked the line, some of whom are single family earners,  have spouses who work for LAUSD,  are new teachers, or have spouses and young children so this cause is very near and dear to us. 

The person we are raising money for is our own teacher and her family, Emily Hernandez. In honor of our fellow Jaguar, we are updating this page to go toward this worthy cause. The Hernandez family have been a fixture of the ESMS family for many years, as both spouses have worked at this site. They are currently facing serious medical challenges within the family and we felt the need to show our support by redirecting these funds to help them at this time.

The money raised will go to the family to help with whatever they need: meals, medical bills, etc.

We ask that our donors consider sharing this page with others to help them in this time of need. Any little bit will go a long way.
