Who are we?
We are FTC team 4177, the Finger Tightans, from Riverside, Iowa. Our team has been around since 2010! 
Our team consists of: Brock (senior), Austin (senior), Connor (senior) Jack (junior), Nathan (Junior), Robert (Junior), Lane (Junior), Sam (Junior), Luke (Sophmore), Matt (Freshmen), and Emily (Freshmen). 

What do we do?
We participate in the robotics competition, FIRST Tech Challenge:
FIRST Tech Challenge teams (10+ members, grades 7-12) are challenged to design, build, program, and operate robots to play a floor game in an alliance format. Participants call it “the hardest fun you’ll ever have!” Guided by adult Coaches and Mentors, students develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles (like keeping an engineering notebook), while realizing the value of hard work, innovation, and sharing ideas. The robot kit is reusable from year-to-year and can be programmed using a variety of languages. Teams also must raise funds, design and market their team brand, and do community outreach for which they can win awards. Participants have access to tens of millions of dollars in college scholarships. Each season concludes with regional Championships and an exciting FIRST Championship.

Closing
We have advanced to the FTC Iowa State Tournament each of the last 4 years and this past year we received a wild card to advance to the FIRST World Championships in St. Louis. We have raised over $1,500 through GoFundMe to fund that trip. Thanks again to all the donors and we are looking to top off our donations and reach our goal of $2,000 to get additional funds for the upcoming 17-18 season.
