Archaeology Collection Storage Fund

Donation protected
The Grenada National Museum, with the assistance of local volunteers and fellow archaeologists, is continuing its efforts to properly organize their archaeology collection and needs your help! Previous salvage operations found artifacts in deteriorated boxes and bags subjected to pests, breakage, humidity, and other poor environmental conditions. In 2016, a project was started to catalog and properly store artifacts, but the GNM is a small museum and funds have run out.

(Previous artifact storage conditions)

The project is now in need of zip-lock bags and plastic bins for artifact storage, as well as a laptop to digitize the catalog. In addition to donations, we will ask Ace Hardware to match raised funds and assist in acquiring much needed materials. Your contribution would be part of a larger goal to make the GNM a central archive to foster research, train community volunteers, and cultivate a sustainable space for heritage preservation!

Pictures and updates on the status of the project will be made available to those who are interested. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Any size donation is appreciated!

I also encourage you to check out the Grenada National Museum website to learn more about it’s role in preserving Grenada’s heritage http://grenadamuseum.gd/.
