It is with sorrow and acceptance of God's will that we announce the passing on to glory of Mr. Gerald Munyiri Karanja (Irungu) on February 20th, 2016 in California, USA after a long illness bravely borne. Husband to Lois Wanjiru Irungu. Father to Joseph Karanja Munyiri, Jean Munyiri-Ngarachu, Damaris Wanjiku Munyiri-Davis and Grace Wanja Munyiri. Father in law to Eunice Munyiri Karanja, Jesse Ngarachu and James B. Davis Jr. Loving grandfather to Pendo, Tuzo, Esther, Sifa and Isaiah.
Mr. Gerald Irungu rested on February 20th after suffering from Parkinsonism. His illness started after incurring injuries at the American Embassy bomb blast of 1998, that led to his early retirement.
Mr. Irungu worked as a Personnel Officer at the Teacher's Service Commission. He helped many teachers achieve their dreams by faciliting their placement in their desired schools.
He was a hard working and diligent family man, a beloved husband of 44 years to Lois Irungu, a loving father to four children and a doting grandfather to five grandchildren.
Family and friends are meeting for prayers and support in Rancho Cucamonga 13560 Cable Creek Ct, CA , 91739.
He will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn, Covina Hills on Saturday March 19th, 2016.
