Give A Kit: Feminine Hygiene Kits for Sere-Olipi
Donation protected
The people of Samburu have a beautiful and vibrant culture and are working towards building their education programs for their youth. Education gives people the foundation to build their own future and allows the community to lead from within which is the key to moving forward while maintaining those important long held traditions that leaves their unique mark on this world. After hearing of this community and their needs, our Give A Kit creator, Tiffany, traveled to this area in 2017. She fell in love with this community immediately and was inspired to do what she could for them.
Since then Give A Kit was created. It’s mission is to provide hygiene resources to young women during their menstrual cycle. These items are not easily available in the Samburu area which causes girls to stay home from school during their cycles. During the 2017 trip, Give A Kit was able to provide 40 kits to the girls of the Sere-Olipi School in Samburu. We're hoping to provide more kits with more specific, reusable items for our 2019 trip. Each kit will include…
-A pair of menstrual underwear specifically made for teens and young women
-Detergent soap sheets making it easier for the girls to wash their menstrual underwear
-A soft cotton, reusable washcloth
-A bar of moisturizing African black soap
-A hot water bottle to ease any cramping discomfort
You can sponsor an entire kit for a girl by simply donating $45. This cost covers the items in the kit, building the kits and getting the kits to the girls. If you stand for education, women empowerment, and the betterment of humanity, then this is the cause for you! Lets show the world that we give a shit and #GiveAKit!
