Your generous donations will cover Mia's:
Air Fare, ground transportaion, Accomodations, Food, Gear package, and other costs involved with International travel.

She will train at the Team USA Freestyle Camp, then fly to Sweden with Team USA to compete in the Lady Klippan tournament with teams from 28 nations. Then she will continue training at an international camp after the competition with Coaches from around the world. Prior to her trip to Sweden she will go to the New York Athletic Club in NYC from February 9-12 where she will be trained by US Womens Olympic Coach Terry Steiner as well as Assistant National Coaches Erin Tomeo and Emma Randall.
Mia and her sisters constantly travel to get the competition they need, so you can imagine how costs can add up.  We truly believe these life experiences are creating Strong, Empowered young ladies with great drive to accomplish anything they put their minds to.
Please read on to see some of Mia's accomplishments.

Mia placed 2nd at the prestigious Body Bar Nationals in Irvine, TX in May achieving All-American status. She was a finalist at Mohawk Valley Freestyle Festival,  NYC Gotham finalist, New England Girls Freestyle Champion and is a 2X NYS Girls Folkstyle State Champion.   She took a Bronze medal at the USA Boys Freestyle Championships this past May 14.

Mia is the first Girl in history to wrestle Varsity for Minisink Valley High School.  She is a two year varsity wrestler for Minisink Valley. She competed at 106 lbs last season as an 8th Grader, and will wrestle 113 lbs for the Warriors this year. She trains freestyle with the Venom Girls Wrestling Club based out of Otisville.

Venom is run by Mia’s father, Heath Macaluso, who is a 1990 Minisink Valley graduate who wrestled finishing 6th in NYS as a senior before wrestling D1 in college for Wagner College where he was coached by current MV wrestling coach Kevin Gallagher.  Dad who was also a Cadet and Junior National Freestyle/Greco Roman  competitor in highschool is very excited to see her make it to the international wrestling scene.

She starting competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at NAGA Grappling tournaments at 5 yrs old.   Budo Jiu-Jitsu, the family dojo, has been the breeding ground for a lot of great wrestlers and grapplers.  After high school practice, Mia heads to the dojo for the extra training she needs to stay in par with her very physical male opponents.

She is so excited to represent the USA but needs your help.  The Olympic developmental programs are not always covered at this stage.  So please help her get there!!!

Thank you so much!
