Gwinnett Heat 2017 fundraiser
Donation protected
I volunteer with the Gwinnett Heat, a high school adapted PE wheelchair sports team. When returning from the Christmas break, the Gwinnett Heat discovered that their equipment trailer had been stolen. This is a devastating loss to the program and a horrible crime affecting a great group of kids.
The team competes in wheelchair handball, basketball and football and regularly competes in the Georgia state championship tournaments.
The county-owned trailer was recently wrapped with the Gwinnett Heat logo design to promote the team and inspire the kids. Whoever stole the trailer had to break several padlocks on school property.
We're asking for support to replace this trailer. Any additional funds will be earmarked for new wheelchairs and updated team equipment. Donations are tax deductible. If requested, you will receive a donation letter confirming your contribution.
The Gwinnett HEAT is the coed, adapted sports program for Gwinnett County Public Schools. Gwinnett Heat is also a member of The American Association of Adapted Sports Programs (AAASP) providing sports programs for students with physical disabilities.
