The 21-day HOPE Walk will kick off in Savannah -walking, making a difference in the community and sharing HOPE on Monday, March 27, at Isle of HOPE Marina. The following communities are slated for the HOPE Walk Route: In Georgia - Savannah, Statesboro, Pooler.
In California – San Rafael, San Fransisco, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles.
Emra Smith from the International School of Story will walk approximately 6-10 miles a day. Media and Time Management Consultant, Kathy Walters Burnsed will participate in this HOPE sharing mission. Once in California, Tracey Milligan from the Milligan Foundation will join Emra on the Historic El Camino Mission Trail. Emra will share HOPE by giving free life coaching phone calls as she walks.
The team will meet with community leaders and discuss community empowerment in several venues including community centers, schools, and churches. Speaking engagements with inspirational stories of HOPE are scheduled along the route. The HOPE Team will serve at shelters and food pantries.
We will share how HOPE can be spread and encourage positive actions to help facilitate personal and community change.
Why are we doing this?
- We believe it is a God-given task. We will actively seek those going through difficult times and share HOPE.
- We are raising funds for housing to support women during difficult times and for the “Place of Story” Workshop.
- AND we will be supporting The Milligan Foundation to raise funds for transport and housing resources for people in immediate need of relocation, due to life threatening danger from domestic violence. This is a National Program.
Thank you for your support financially and for your prayers.
Have you ever lost HOPE?
Perhaps you have lost a loved one, faced death, had news of cancer. Lost a job, your business. Didn't know how to pay your bills. Have a family member with addictions, or you are an addict. Experienced divorce. Been physically or emotionally abused. Been depressed. Just simply scared of the future in this crazy world.
International School of Story is a developing non-profit with a mission to provide a technology platform and physical place for women who are going through difficult times. The power of story will be used to encourage and give HOPE. Training through workshops and coaching will be provided for development and empowerment.
We know what it feels like to lose HOPE. The faculty have hurt in the myriad of ways life batters. We have come through with strength, joy, courage and HOPE. We want to share our skills and give this love, courage and HOPE. We do not want one woman to feel alone. Together we can change society and shine HOPE in the darkest times.
The technology platform is to share stories that encourage, teach, mentor, give HOPE, empower and change lives. It combines social media platforms, videos, books, seminars, retreats, conferences.
The place will be a huge studio, The place of Story, where the HOPE Doll products will be made, as well as live workshops.
1. The first principle that guides the Shool of Story is to keep administration costs low and maximize the effectiveness of donations. We aim to achieve this through the help of volunteers, fundraising, grants and through self-sustaining product manufacturing and sales.
2. The second principle is to empower women, involving supportive men. Mentoring, financial education and spiritual nurture will be offered through the expert faculty. Physical assistance through housing, volunteer work opportunities and finances will be given when needed as funding is raised. 10% of each donation goes to a fund to help support financial needs of women in transition.
3. Our third principle is for our place to be environmentally sustainable and along with the platform to give HOPE and purpose to women as we support one another.
4. We are comitted to positive outcomes in each aspect, facilitating a strong future for children, being scientifically sound, operationally transparent and honoring God through serving, compelled to love and give our all.
Thank you for your financial support and for being a part of this journey.
