Erica Haynes is battling cancer for the third time in two years and her family needs our help!!! Erica is currently in the hospital fighting brain cancer with everything she’s got.
A teacher by trade, Erica is a mother of four and was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer two years ago. The cancer metastasized into brain cancer in early 2016…another surgery, another round of chemo and radiation and things were looking up. Late last year, Erica started having seizures. She took as much leave as she could, but had to retire from teaching when the seizures continued. An MRI in late February showed a mass…everyone was hopeful it was a benign and the product of radiation. It wasn’t, the mass was cancer once again. It was removed in early March. Erica is still in the hospital right now.
Erica’s husband, Dawsheen, is a small business owner so Erica carried the family’s health insurance. There was a lapse in coverage before her retirement paperwork was processed so her current surgery and hospital stay is uninsured. Because of this, the Haynes family has an unimaginable financial burden.
Erica and Dawsheen are incredibly loving, devoted parents to twin five year old boys, an eight year old girl and a 10 year old boy. As you can imagine, their kids are struggling with mom being in the hospital and dad splitting his time between work (as the sole bread winner), home and his wife’s bedside.
Let’s help the Haynes family by relieving some of their financial burden during this terribly difficult time. We will update, with Dawsheen’s blessing, as often as new information becomes available…
