My name is Tracy Zhykhovich.  I am the visionary of Healing Hooves Family Farm LLC.  We are a small family run farm ministry.  My husband, Stepan, our three children and I operate the farm and horse ministry.

When I was living in Russia ten years ago, Healing Hooves was taking wing.  We had a horse that we used for hippotherapy and were looking for a piece of land to start our adventure.  Unfortunately tragedy struck our family and we returned to Minnesota after living in Russia for almost twenty years.

My dream and vision for a family run farm and Healing Hooves ministry never died.  In fact, the flame grew brighter and I started putting paint on the canvas.  After about 4 1/2 years of planning, writing and re-writing a business plan and searching and waiting for the right time and the right property, we were finally able to start bringing the dream to reality.

The past five years we have been working with two full-size horses for riding, a pony for smaller children, and 3 miniature horses that have been to a nursing home.  The pony and minis have done day camps and Pony Parties.

Horses are very therapeutic animals and I desire to have them available for equine-assisted learning and activities that will help people emotionally, physically and spiritually.

In November of 2014, we purchased 40 acres in Central Minnesota.  We paid cash for the down payment and arranged a contract for deed.  This was our only option since I was unable to get a loan from the bank due to not having a line of credit after living in Russia for so long.

We have a small cabin and a few very small "outbuildings" on the property.

We need to add on to the cabin and build a barn.

We invite you on this exciting journey with us.  It is quite humbling to ask for help, but God raises up the humble.  We hope to be a blessing to many people with your help.  Please consider partnering with us.

With the help of awesome friends and family we were able to get some fencing in and other fencing fixed, as well as a horse shelter built so I was able to get the horses out of boarding before winter set in.

Since that time we have built a 20'X24' chicken coop and had about fifty laying hens and a few roosters and turkeys.  We also raised some meat birds.  (Unfortunately, that number has dropped some due to a fox.)

We have about eight acres of hay field that was mowed and baled this year.

This summer we also had to put in a new septic (county rules) and, in planning ahead, we had one put in for a five bedroom house.  (We wanted to make sure we have enough room for guests!)

Due to the fact that we cannot get a loan, we are appealing to you to partner with us in this future ministry and help with a few basic living and farm needs - an addition to our small cabin and a barn.

If you are interested in the business plan, please contact me.

We are living in a very small cabin.  (You can contact me personally for the specific details on how small the cabin is.)

It is very cozy and we are blessed to have it.  We just need a little more square footage so we can unpack until we are able to build the “house”.

The hot plate and toaster oven are great, but a stove/oven would make cooking much easier.  Right now there is no room for a stove or refrigerator in the house.  We have a mini refrigerator inside, but the larger one is outside under the overhang.

The refrigerator will not work if it is left outside during a MN winter, and I really don’t want to have to shovel to get to it!

We are unable to build the main house at this time, so we need to add on to the present cabin.  Later on when we are in a position to build a house, we will then have this larger cabin available as a guest house, which is one of the goals we have had from the beginning.

The Cabin Addition Plan:

- Add on three rooms, which will give us bedrooms and closets (so clothes aren’t hanging in the living/kitchen area)

- Getting beds out of the living area will make room for the refrigerator and hopefully a stove

- It will make it easier to have guests out to visit

- We are planning for an outdoor wood furnace.  We have a lot of trees down in the woods that will provide years of heat.

Last year we spent an exorbitant amount of money on electricity.

Ideally we would like to use alternative energy in the future, as much as possible.

We will be doing the work ourselves so that expense will be spared.

Barn Plan:

-  40X60

-  slab with blocks

-  stalls

-  future place to milk

-  water and electricity to barn

-  electricity to chicken coop

Healing Hooves' goal is to inspire, challenge, encourage and empower individuals and families for their personal benefit and for God’s glory.

We will strive to bring smiles to people of all ages while educating them, making memories and having fun.

(Some ways we do this is through miniature horse and pony parties and miniature horse visits to institutions and events.)

We want people to be able to get out of the city and enjoy God's creation and farm life and healthy food.

Another passion of ours is healthy living. We want to be able to provide healthy eggs and meat to those who value fresh farm raised products and want food with no added hormones, antibiotics or GMO feed.  We would like to start a small herd of steers for this purpose and wish to get a milk cow and possibly a few goats.

Any money left over would be used to start this herd.

Thank you for considering these needs.  Please pray for us as our farm and ministry take shape and partner with us financially as you feel led.

We would like to be able to welcome guests as soon as possible!
