Help Edna

For almost twenty years, Edna Valentino was a fixture at the Winn-Dixie on Flagler Plaza Drive in Palm Coast, Fl. She ran the photo lab until it closed in 2006 and then the floral department where she was known for her high quality floral arrangements. In November 2014 she suffered a stroke and has been unable to work since.

The stroke left her with weakness in one side and she is unable to walk or stand for long periods of time. She has limited control of her hands and has trouble doing many everyday task including preparing meals. She can no longer read due to her failing eyesight. Her memory is getting worse by the day.

She needs help. Her insurance, which she paid into for almost twenty years, only lasted a year and a half. She has had to beg help of various local charities to pay her electric bill for almost a year now. She is being sued for failure to pay her car payments and her house is in a state of total disrepair.

There is no air conditioning because of damaged duct work and no running water because of a water pump that was burned out after running without water for a week following a recent blackout. Her roof has a hole from hurricane Mathew and her bedroom closet is a near total loss as is one toilet which is leaking and unflushable even when the water is running. There is a hole in her front porch right in front of the door and her yard has been left untended for most of the last 4 years.
