Help Michele Beat Brain Cancer
Donation protected
Brain cancer. A shocking diagnosis for anyone, let alone a young couple preparing for the birth of their first child. When everything that should be nothing but new and exciting suddenly turns to anger, sadness, fear and complete unpredictability.
37 weeks into her pregnancy Michele and Jacob found out that she has a glioma on the left frontal lobe of her brain. Gliomas are a common type of tumor that originate in the brain. She was quickly referred to the Cleveland Clinic for consultation with their neurosurgery team. It was determined that immediate delivery of the baby was vital, so that further diagnostics and treatment for Michele could proceed.
Baby Nash joined the world on October 8th and is a happy, healthy baby boy who brings us all light and joy during this tough time.
The type, growth potential, aggressiveness and continued treatment needs post-surgery for Michele are still unknown. We will know more after the tumor is removed in late October at the Cleveland Clinic and after the pathology report is received back.
At this point we are still unsure what the total costs will be, how long chemo and radiation treatment will need to continue and what insurance will even agree to cover. While we don’t know exact totals, we do know that the financial burden will be significant. And that due to the nature of their careers, income will also be lost due to missed workdays.
We would love your help in supporting Michele, Jacob and baby Nash to make sure that Michele's health and recovery is their primary focus. If you don’t have the means to help monetarily and think that you can give in another way, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Michele, Jacob and Nash, along with their family and friends, are so appreciative of the outpouring of support and love that they have already received and look forward to sharing good news with you all!
