Teaching the homeless to busk!

Donation protected

Hello everyone!
My name is Cecilia Brandolini and I've just graduated highschool in Byron Bay. I've played music all my life and want to use this skill to help others as much as I can.

Instead of going to uni this year I am moving to Sydney to take a gap year.

For 2016, I want to teach homeless people to busk. To get to know them and help them make money for bigger and better things.

My plan is to gift them a bright coloured ukulele, a permanent marker and chord charts. With this comes a plastic soft case and a cardboard box. The plastic case for money to go in and the cardboard can be used as a sign to say anything they like.

I am willing to spend an hour with each of these people, supply them with, and teach them how to read chord charts and to play in time, then ask them what songs they already know how to sing and go from there.

However, I need funding to buy these ukuleles. A cheap one is roughly $25.  This is where YOU come in! You fund me with the money and I will physically get out there and buy the ukuleles and teach them to play.

Any amount of money donated is extremely appreciated.

A year long busking permit for the City of Sydney is $47. A 3 month busking permit is $13.

This means alot to me because I hate to see people homeless on the street and I feel like my silver coins do so little. Help me do more.

While this may not be a solution, I want to provide homeless people with an opportunity to cultivate a skill that will hopefully allow them to create and sustain at least some form of income.

Homelessness is a very big problem in Australia. It is often overlooked and is an issue that needs and deserves a greater level of attention from the general public. It is undoubtedly one of the most prominent social issues present of our time, and I am passionate about doing my bit to help out.

Please help me to help the homeless!
