ILL DOOTS Unify Tour: We All We Got
Donation protected
ILL DOOTS is on a mission.
LIVE. LOVE. UNIFY.
This mission has kept us quite busy over the past year. We've played some amazing shows and festivals, won a Barrymore Award for our original music in Flashpoint Theatre's "Hands UP", worked on "An Octoroon" at the Wilma Theatre (under the skilled direction of Joanna Settle in both productions), recorded a brand new studio album, and still managed to keep up with our teaching artist work (Wilmagination, Uarts Pre-College, Urban Choice Charter School) Now, finally the mission has lead us here...
We're excited to announce our sixth tour: the Unify Tour.
If you know ILL DOOTS then you know that "I Love Living" is the mantra and we're taking it back on the road with our latest mission: to UNIFY. We're hitting 12 cities and counting on this tour (check out the dates and cities below) offering not only unparalleled music experiences but also learning experiences through "I Love Learning" educational workshops and mentorship opportunities.
The mission is to spread the message of unity through all ages, classes, and communities, but to do that, we're going to need your help.
In order to hit the road in September we have to make sure our ride (Dillapollo20k) can safely get us there. Unfortunately, a recent tragedy the Dillapollo experienced here in Philly has made it so we might not be able to make that happen without you. The drivers side door and left side mirror are both BEYOND REPAIR after being sideswiped by a SEPTA bus while parked on Tasker St. If you've ever been wronged by SEPTA or just want to make sure we are safe and legal on the road then please consider donating. A sizeable portion of the funds will go directly to a replacement door and mirror, because let's be honest, we all know SEPTA won't fix it!
In fact, van maintenance is just one of many costs we encounter on the road. We'll be traveling over 5,000 miles and that adds up to a whole lot of gas money, not to mention the food fuel we'll all need to help keep us going.
After all we'll be needing our energy; in addition to our high octane shows, we will be giving everything we've got in our "I Love Learning" workshops. In our workshops we offer what we've learned as artists and teachers (music theory, various instruments, visual arts, vocal and physical performance, and collaboration) to the communities we encounter for FREE but that doesn't mean there aren't costs. We need a portable powered PA speaker that can handle all of our sound needs for workshops as well as basic school supplies such as colored pencils, notebooks, and hand instruments.
This may not sound like a lot but consider lodging, advertising, and the costs of taking off work and it adds up. That is why we need YOUR HELP. We hope you'll consider donating to this fundraising campaign before we hit the road in September. To help persuade you further we are also willing reward you for your support! So check out the Reward Levels on the side, donate, spread the word, and help us to UNIFY: We All We Got!
