I am Jamie Perry’s sister, Claudia & I am currently doing all I can, every single minute, from across the country, ... to help her to get her life back. On the morning of October 10th, my sister Jamie called me with some devestating news. At approximately 11:30pm the night before (Sunday, October 9th), she, along with her entire neighborhood, was ordered to evacuate IMMEDIATELY! No time to grab much of anything, for a fire from Nun's Canyon was fast approaching. As far as I know all she had time to grab was her phone, her two cats in their carriers and one of her cars. Her home is now one of over 200 homes in her area of Glen Ellen, that was quickly destroyed by fire along with everything in it and around it. As of that night the fire was still not contained and many parts of Glen Ellen and Santa Rosa were destroyed. The beautiful countryside & vineyards that she used to see everywhere are now on fire or smouldering & completely unrecognizable.
Thankfully, she and her neighbors all got away safely, however, this place was not only her home, it was her livelihood. Her entire business, her works of art, her originals and prints, frames, photographs and many many things that can never be replaced have now vanished. However, My sister is a strong individual. She has been through so much in her past and has learned to deal with whatever comes her way and how to survive. She has lived there for more than 30 years and it was basically all she had, yet now there is nothing left. She was recently widowed & continued to live by her craft not knowing what her future would hold, and altho those fires were out there, it was totally unexpected. Jamie has always been fun & loving and it always shows in her artwork and no matter what problems came her way, she found ways to overcome them through her art & she found comfort thru her extreme love for her cats, (or anyone's cats!), music, cooking and most importantly her family & friends. She has never asked for anything from anyone and always has put other's needs before her own...I cannot stop thinking about her & what will be next and I have had Tom Petty's song, "I Won't Back Down" in my head all day... (one of our favorite musicians). I know that is my sister's spirit, but I feel that this time she could use all the help she can get & I'm going to do whatever I can to keep her spirits up. I have seen this before with my best friend & it will be, I want to say, "a difficult adventure"... ? And I'm praying that something good can & will come out of this, eventually... Because with Jamie, she is not one to back down.
And so because we all could use some joy in our lives, if you would like to help in any way, I am providing it for her here. Any funds she could have available to her as soon as possible would be so wonderful, so that she may use it for those small essentials we take for granted everyday, for meals, for gas, for clothing, medication, etc. to find a place to live along with her two cats, to replace anything she may immediately need or to use this fund for...whatever she chooses to have a life again. She loves life and deserves to be happy. I am asking if you would like, please help in making this happen... I would so appreciate any help that anyone can offer... We love her so much... <3 As Tom Petty would sing... "Well, I Won't Back Down". If anyone would like to contact me on her behalf, feel free to do so by emailing me here & I will do my best to carry out your ideas or thoughts... I will keep updates here once we know what is happening so stay tuned and Thanks so much in advance...
Help spread the word by copying the link and sharing it on your page... The more that hear about her, the more can help... <3

Hey, I will stand my ground
