Jason Wayne Hunter Medical Fund

As many of you know Jason has recently fell ill. At the beginning of August Jason started with severe joint pain and was found to have Lyme Disease. While recovering Jason began experiencing extreme headaches and fatigue. Jason sought care at his primary care physician and found out that his blood pressure was extremely elevated.  In an attempt to control his blood pressure Jason was placed on a common blood pressure medication called Lisinopril, as well as Prozac and Buspar for possible anxiety. Jason also followed up with his cardiologist where testing was started. Jason then began experiencing back pain along with the continuing headaches. Jason was seen in the emergency room on 9/16 and they found that his kidneys and liver were actually shutting down. He was admitted into the hospital that night. That night Jason also had a seizure. On 9/17 Jason suffered multiple seizures.  An EEG (electroencephalogram)- a test that detects electrical activity in the brain, has been performed and it was found that Jason does have nerve damage in his brain from his history of bull riding. Jason will have to be placed on medications to control his seizures and cannot return to work or drive until they are controlled. Currently Jason is on Keppra and Ativan and they seem to be working, but of course Jason and Kate will be taking a huge financial cut along with the incoming medical bills.

Jason and Kate put in MANY long hours and hard work with Riley’s fishing tournament and they have been such a huge help in our family’s time of need!!! They are truly amazing people!
