On November 2, 2018,
. .. our lives forever changed. .

.. Josh Barras, Struggled with depression and a year prior to this he also lost his father. Josh lost his way, But he never lost his Strength. If you know Josh personally you know his huge heart and his silly sense of humor but behind that he had pain he couldn't quite learn to cope with. . In ending result of this battle with depression, He now suffers with an anoxic brain injury. After four weeks in the hospital, they said there was nothing more that could be done for him. He was released to a nursing home with a tracheostomy and a feeding tube. He will need 24-hour care for a length of time if no improvement. He is non-verbal, bedbound and unable to follow commands.
Unfortunately the treatment that can help my husband get a second chance at life is expensive. The past six months have been extremely challenging for my husband and our family here in  Louisiana... However has been breathing all along. He was given this second chance in life.
Our Josh is a husband , son, stepfather, Brother, uncle, nephew, grandson, and friend to many.

Since Josh’s injury, I have spent everyday with him, helping him anyway I can. Being at his bedside is extremely tough, but seeing him brightens every day. I cannot wait until the day he is better and we can hear his voice hear his laugh and see him living again ..

The injury that Josh suffered caused his brain to be deprived of oxygen, leaving him in his current condition. Harch Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment, is are goal. These Treatments releasing 100% Oxygen at 3 times the pressure than normal helping to regrow damaged brain tissue.

In February I was arrested for sharing a video of a fight at my son's school for "unlawful posting of a criminal act for noterity and publicity" which is not a law that applied to my action.   two reasons that specific fight caught my attention was because my husband suffers with a brain injury and the severity of the fight one of the boys hit the concrete bench that he very well could have been left in this similar condition at 14 years old within seconds from a school fight! Another being I have an autistic son who often gets bullied and can't defend himself and it breaks me!
Not only did the arrest traumatize me with having to go to jail.. But I was put In the very same jail where my husband attempted suicide in last November. I was forced to go into the same bathroom he was found I was left without bond.. I was left with so many thoughts racing in my mind wondering what happened that day.. I became physically sick.. Threw up the entire night on a mattress on the floor.. The arrest was not only a wrongful arrest.. It was traumatizing more than I can express.

The struggles these past month have been extremely challenging, but I will not give up and neither has Josh.    #TeamBarras
