Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my fundraising page. If you don't know me already, my name is Katie Simpson and I'm 29 years old. I have been practicing Kimura Shukokai Karate for 21 years, since the age of 8 and I currently train and teach up to 6 days a week. I have competed at International level since the age of 13 and I am currently ranked as the KSI World and European Kata Champion.
I'm very proud to be part of the SKF England Karate Team, under the management and guidence of Shihan Eddie Daniels 9th Dan, KSI World Chief Instructor. Sensei Clem Braithwaite, Sensei Paul Richards, Sensei Solfrid Daniels and Sensei Audun Daniels.
In the years that I have competed at International level I have managed to carve out quite a successful career and have been placed in the top three at every event I have attended, here are my International successes to date:

What most people probably don't realise, is that in order to do what I do, it costs an athlete of my calibre in excess of £2,000+ per year in order to train, travel, compete and most importantly succeed Internationally. Unfortunately in the sport that I am so dedicated and passionate about there is no funding this means I have to self-fund. I work full-time at Leeds Castle in Maidstone, Kent in order to fund my participation and often run fundraising events in order to help myself and other club members to afford to compete.
My Goal in 2017:
KSI European Karate Championships (Defend my European Title)
Funding raised will help towards the cost of training, equipment, and travel needed to attend such a prestigious event.
- KSI European Championships
- Four National Karate Tournaments
- EKF Open Karate Tournaments
- WCIC International Training Camp in Germany
- Two training courses with Shihan Daniels, 9th Dan
- Travel, accomodation & training Birmingham Squad
If you would like to help me defend my title and achieve my aspirations then please if you can make a donation towards my campaign and share the link with as many close friends as you can.
If you are intrested in sponsoring me further then please get in touch at [email redacted] or visit our club website for more information www.kentkarate.co.uk
Many thanks for your time and support,
