Kareem's Trip to Rome
Donation protected
There is a National Latin Exam that thousands of students take each year. Kareem not only passed, but he ranked at NUMBER 2 (amazing, right?) Because of his scores, he has been offered the chance to travel to Rome, Greece, and the Vatican City with classmates and his school's faculty for 11 days.
Please help me send my son, Kareem, abroad. Kareem is a smart, caring, and funny 12 year old boy. He enjoys reading, making jokes, and dancing. He is in the 7th grade at one of the best and most competitive all-boys school in Philadelphia.
Kareem has two older sisters (twins) that are in college. College, for one person is very expensive -- college for two, is even more! So you could imagine the heavy finacial burden that I bare. I'm afraid that I, alone, cannot take care of this expense. I need help - all the help that I can get.
Kareem's eagerness to learn and inquisitive nature has set him apart from many of his counterparts. Not only has it gotten him recognized by his teachers for his exceptional academic performance. But, it has also outcasted him. Kareem is a victim of bullying. Other children tease him for the very things that make Kareem, Kareem - the things that we are so very proud of. As it does to many children, bullying has had a huge impact on Kareem's confidence.
Though Kareem will learn the history and importance of the destinations, an even greater impact will become evident -- the restoration of the confidence that Kareem had lost. Despite the bullying and lack of confidence, Kareem continues to find joy and happiness in learning new concepts, exchanging ideas, and solving problems.
Please. Please. Please Help me send my son - my only son - abroad. Although me and Kareem's father, Mamadou are no longer together, we both want the best for Kareem by ensuring him the best possible future. Anything helps. Everything is greatly and deeply appreciated.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
With much love,
Tonya Bah
