Katie for Mrs. Maryland America 2014!
Donation protected
My name is Katie Kinslow and I am a mother, a wife, a proud Maryland resident, a social worker, a small business owner, an advocate, an ambassador, and a volunteer. I am also excited to share with you that I am Mrs. Bel Air Maryland America 2013!
After completing my degree in Social Work from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and settling down right here in Bel Air with my beloved family (including my son, Brayden, and loving husband, Jeff) I feel that this is finally my moment to make a difference in the lives of individuals everywhere.
As an Independent Beauty Consultant for Mary Kay Inc., I work with women to not just purchase cosmetic and beauty products but to lead enriching lives and focus on overall well-being including female empowerment. I also strongly believe in volunteerism and the impact it can have on both an individual and an entire nation. Currently, I volunteer and raise donations for Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation, Maryland affiliate of Susan G. Komen, The Boys & Girls Club of Harford County, Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna, as well as many other organizations and non-profits through my network.
As Mrs. Bel Air Maryland America, I will continue this great work of outreach and advocacy throughout the year 2013 and ultimately compete for the title of Mrs. Maryland America 2014. Earning that title will grant me the opportunity to make a difference on a much larger scale. And I need your help:
MY JOURNEY. The Mrs. Maryland America Pageant features the most accomplished married women in the state of Maryland. Each year, delegates from the surrounding Maryland counties compete for the coveted state title. And it is the State Director's mission to discover these women and deem them qualified for the title. The winner of the Mrs. Maryland America Pageant will make personal appearances throughout the state during her year-long reign, speaking to and for the community about our great state and the services/products Maryland provides. Mrs. Maryland America also earns the right to participate in the national Mrs. America Pageant. If she wins Mrs. America she will move on to the coveted Mrs. World Pageant which airs as a LIVE television special seen around the world.
MY MISSION. Breast Cancer Awareness and Prevention is my pageant platform. I have volunteered and raised funds for many years in honor of my grandmother and mother-in-law who are both breast cancer survivors. I am proud to say that recently I became an official Ambassador for the Maryland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®! With this position, I will help carry out the vision of Komen, a world without breast cancer, in the state of Maryland and I will educate the public about the importance of early detection and breast self-awareness. I will also assist Komen Maryland with a variety of events including health fairs, wellness events, breast health 101 presentations, and annual walks/runs.
I am asking for your support because I feel you are among the best fit to accompany me on my journey to Mrs. Maryland America! In addition, local community and business support is essential for me to participate and succeed in the pageant. I appreciate your attention to this significant moment in my life.
Thank you.
Best,
Katie Kinslow
