*** Be sure to checkout Update Posts #6, 7, & 8 for highlights and pics from the 2017 Summer Program.***
Our daughter, Kayla Campbell, is an Honoree in the Duke University Talent Identification Program (also known as Duke TIP). As an honoree, she is eligible to attend their Summer College Studies from now until her 10th grade year. What a great honor and opportunity for her! The current tuition for the Summer Studies is $4000 - $4500 each year. With your help, let’s make sure that she attends each year. There, she will get to meet with other talented students that are academically gifted as well. Classes will be rigorous but exciting and the experience will be forever memorable.
For those who are not familiar with the Duke TIP program, below is a little information about the program (as noted from their website, www.tip.duke.edu ):
It is the largest program of its kind, participants in the Duke TIP 7th Grade Talent Search identify academic strengths, develop abilities and interests, and celebrate their achievements at a crucial time when they are forming their identities and looking ahead to the future. TIP assists families in determining how advanced their students’ academic abilities are and what level of educational challenge is appropriate.
Thank you in advance for your help and participation and feel free to notify others who you believe would love to help in this fundraiser. Full tuition payment for the upcoming Duke TIP Summer Studies Program will be due in February 2018.
Kayla continues as an honor roll student in high school. She sings not only in her church choir, but her school choruses as well. Kayla plays the trombone and has now begun to express interest in Theatre.
We are very proud of what she has accomplished at such a young age.
