Kayley's Irish Championships Goal
Donation protected
Kayley is an 8yr old Irish Gymnast. She started gymnastics at just 9 months of age and was crazy about being upside down ever since. Her first experience of competitive gymnastics was at 5yrs of age representing Eccles Gymnastics Club in North Dublin, the gym her mammy competed at & coached at, and where Kayley trained since 2yrs of age. In August 2013 Kayley moved to Southern California with her family.
She currently trains at National Gymnastics Training Center in Aliso Viejo, California 4 times per week as part of their competitive team. She has just finished her 2016 USA gymnastics meet season, culminating with a 6th place overall standing at the State Championships in San Diego.
Her love of gymnastics grows bigger day by day as do her dreams, which are alot bigger than she is. Kayley's goal is to follow in her mammy's footsteps and one day represent Ireland in elite level gymnastics. As with many young gymnasts, her biggest dream is to make it to the Olympics repping the Irish flag!
Her first step towards this goal is to compete at the Irish National Championships in April 2016 in Dublin, Ireland. Her gymnastics journey started in Dublin and it's only fitting that the next stage of her gymnastics adventures should begin there.....
The crowd funding idea was initiated by a few friends who wanted to sponsor Kayley to make her dream a reality. The money raised in this campaign will primarily be used for flights for Kayley & one guardian back to Ireland for the competition. Because of our family all being in Ireland, there are no accommodation/living costs to this trip. Any additional funds will be used towards Kayleys training costs or deposited in a bank account to facilite future trips to Ireland for competition, training/assessment.
Thank you to everyone who has been so encouraging in this process. Kayley is currently training really hard & is beyond excited at the possibility of competing at home once again. Her other major excitement is the thought of her family & Irish friends being able to watch her compete.
As usual, we will be documenting every part of this process through social media so that everyone can share in the experience with us.
