Get Lucy to LDS Business College!

My name is Anne Isom and I am a friend to Lucy from New Delhi, India.  We met Lucy at church and soon became friends with this sweet and hard working young lady.  We have known her for a couple of years now, and know that things have been very hard for her.  We hope that you will help us get her here to the US to continue her education.  India is not an easy place to find work and support your family.  We know that an advanced degree here in the US would help Lucy and her family immensly.  Here is her story in her own words:

Hi, I am Lucy. I am 35 years old Indian LDS having been a part of this amazing church for last 6 years. I come from a small town of India and from a family of 9, my dad being the only provider for the family that time. I had a tough childhood and adolescence more so because of the orthodox background I came from. I started working at a very young age to fund my own education. Challenges never seem ceasing for me and I had to move out of my home to a distant land to explore what life could offer me. They were 3 yrs of continuous struggle, hard work and perseverance. During these years I gained my bachelors degree with a full time job. I used to go to morning classes followed by full time teaching routine till 4pm and then private tuition classes for my students because the money that earned was not sufficient to pay all the expenses I had (housing & education). But owing to adverse circumstances again, I had to come back to my native place and had a long struggle to get employment to support myself and family. Though I always wanted to study Project Management to sharpen my skills to be in a better position to have a stable career and provide for my family but again I eventually moved out of my hometown to a different town to start working. I worked like a machine for 5 long years. During this time, I met 2 wonderful Mormon missionaries who taught me about the restored church of Jesus Christ and I ended up accepting Christianity and eventually to go to Philippines to serve a 18 months full time for my Lord Jesus Christ. I never gave a second though to what I would be doing after coming back and how my family would sustain but Lord has been merciful and they were taken care of. I came back and started hunting jobs again and during this time, I changed many jobs, had a struggle with my sibling suffering from a deadly disease and many other challenges. Life started getting calm down after that until I met this man through a common friend who proposed for marriage. I started wedding preparation and spent most of my savings in it and even left my job for him (because I had to move to USA) only to experience a major setback of my life when he broke off with me out of nowhere. I was in depression for many months after that and to make the matter worst, I was not able to find job for 8 long months. But I never lost hope. Few months back I had a strong feeling that I should go to USA to pursue my education again and I have even applied and even got acceptance. Now I need to deposit my tuition fee of $4740 which is a huge amount for me and in my circumstances, it’s a herculean task for me to raise this money of my own to pay my college fee. I need it asap as it’s very crucial for me and will open many new venues for me and I will be in position to support myself and my family in a better way.

Upon  a kind suggestion of one of my close friends, I am writing this story of mine with a hope that you will come up to help me pooling this amount as soon as possible and help my dream come true. I would be grateful for any amount that you are in position to donate for this noble cause. I will forever be grateful for your help.

God bless you all !

Sincerely,

Lucy
