Nelson's Medical Fund

First Covenant Church of Cadillac, MI, has taken up this campaign to assist John and Lynn Nelson with medical expenses while Lynn is undergoing treatment for liver cancer.
John is a life time member our First Covenant Church in Cadillac, MI. He and Lynn were married here in 1969 and together, they have faithfully served our church well throughout the years. John is a photographer who is trying hard to keep up with the changes in the profession. Lynn has been our church secretary since 2000.
John and Lynn have faced many challenges over the years. One of their daughters developed a serious heart condition after the birth of her first child and when that had become manageable through medication, Jen then was diagnosed with breast cancer. John and Lynn were very supportive parents and in 2013, Jen and her family moved in to their home to help deal with Jen’s mounting medical bills.
In the meantime, both John and Lynn were helping their ailing parents. On May 5, 2014, John's mother and Lynn's father both passed into eternity on the same day in separate incidents! Then Jen, there daughter also passed that same year in October leaving behind a loving husband and 5 year-old daughter. Both have been invited to continue to stay in John and Lynn's home.
John broke his wrist in the spring of 2015: a tough break for a photographer. He has recovered pretty much, but there are still payments on the bills. Now, Lynn has been diagnosed with liver cancer which was discovered after a routine colonoscopy uncovered a mas that had to be removed surgically. She has begun chemo and may face surgery closer to June depending on how it goes. She is pretty tired, but she is trying to keep up with her secretarial duties just the same. That is her choice. We're trying to wrestle as much of that away from her as we can so she can rest, but it isn't easy.
John and Lynn have both practically made the church their second home. They are heavily involved in doing and fixing and maintaining and serving any way they can. Finances are a big issue. John has stepped back from the photography business to be with Lynn more. They are just a couple of special people who have a lot on their plate and could use some help to carry it right now.
The bills will start rolling in soon, so we'd appreciate any blessings.
