MMUN Roam to Rome
Donation protected
Hello! We are the grade 4 - 7 students from Lions Gate Montessori School!
Every two years, the grade 4-7 students from our school have the once in a lifetime opportunity to go to something called the Montessori Model United Nations (MMUN). The MMUN is an initiative that montessori students can take to help make the world a better place - not just for us but for future generations!
How The MMUN Works:
Students choose a country to represent at the Montessori Model United Nations (MMUN) conference and travel to the conference to represent their countries and discuss global issues with many other students from across the world. This year, we are representing TWO countries: India and Uganda at the MMUN conference is in Rome, Italy.
The students (us) study important global issues and come up with solutions on how our represented countries can contribute to solving these very important global issues! These issues include; peaceful uses of space, human rights, nuclear disarmament, food security and social justice for all. The resolutions that we make with at this conference will be passed on to the United Nations General Assembly!
Why Should you Donate!?!
We are SO passionate about making the world a better place and helping to solve global issues so we want to travel all the way to the MMUN conference in Rome, Italy to share our ideas and try to help change the world.
Going to the conference is going to cost each of us over $3,500 Canadian - and there are 17 of us - so please help us reach our goal so that we can make the future brighter. With your help we know we can achieve our goal to make the world a better place.
If you donate $50 or more, we'll send you a postcard from Rome!
Some of the things we already do to help make this world a better place:
1) We've been supporting a child to attend the Shree Mangal Dvip School in Nepal for the past 10 years.
2) We participate in WeScare Hunger to raise money for our local food bank.
3) We collect donations to Covenant House to support homeless teens.
4) We participate in our cleaning up our local beach.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP AND GENEROSITY!!!
