Hi Everyone,
Welcome to my Go Fund Me page. I want to take a moment for thanking you for visiting this page I've made.
If you know me, then you know two things. I love photography, and I don't like asking for help. I know there are many other noble causes to donate, and I would encourage you to donate there as well. But first I'll tell you why I started this small fund.
In the spring of 2013, shortly after losing a very close friend, I realized that life is too short to be wasting my time in a job that was not moving me along and helping me to grow as an individual. I decided to leave my full-time administrative assistant position in order to devote 100% of my time to my photography.Due to the encouragement of my family and friends, this has been a reality up until this point.
This has been the most challenging and rewarding life of my year, and I thank those who have supported my vision and goals by encouraging me to follow this dream. I believe life is not about what you have its about what you make. I intend to make this world more beautiful and conscious with my photography, but I need your help.
In the past year, I've been able to work with amazing photographers in NYC, learning from the best and developing my style. I've been lucky enough to work alongside amazing professional photographers on projects for New York Times Magazine, Bloomberg BusinessWeek, Cosmopolitan, Wall Street Journal Magazine, and Departures Magazine. In addition to this editorial work, I've assisted on shoots for several fashion campaigns including Eileen Fisher and Alice and Olivia, and even most recently on my own for a small handbag start up out of NYC.
I have been able to create new work thanks to generosity of others. Either by lending their gear, or their time to help me on specific projects, while also using the resources of equipment rental here in NYC, I have been able to create work that I am proud of. Now that I've exhausted favors and funds, I would like to ask for help in taking my career one BIG step forward.
I have worked on saving money, even while living in such an expensive place. I have taken my time and done my research and put years of energy into my dream and would like to ask for your help in purchasing the equipment I will need to do the jobs I dream of!
