Maggie's diverticulitis surgery

I am a second grade teacher in San Antonio, Texas who was diagnosed with diverticulitis. I have severe ulcers
and polyps in the affected area. These polyps can erupt and lead to my death. I need to have surgery to remove part of my large colon that is affected with this disease. I am schedule for surgery on December 20th. I was told by the hospital that my out of pocket expense is $3,500.00. My medical insurance covers only 80%, I have to have the other 20%. As a school teacher, I do not have that kind of funds readily available. When I get admitted I am to pay $816.00! I am asking for your support to raise the funds needed for my surgery.
This illness came as a big surprise to me, I really never expected to have diverticulitis. My only son, John Soto, was diagnosed with ulcerated colitis at the age of 9. His battled with ulcerated colitis was very severe and extremely painful. It was so severe that his gastroenterologist strongly suggested that his large intestine be removed. He had to be on an ostomy bag at the age of 13. But thanks to the many prayers a year later, the surgeon at Miami Childrens hospital was able to reattach his small intestine to his colon and remove the ostomy bag. My son, John Soto Jr. is now deceased, killed by a drunken driver in 1999 at the age of 27. What does this have to do with my illness? The devastation and stress of losing my only child has never gone away. I am now face with a similar illness that is a constant reminder of my son's struggles with ulcerated colitis.
This surgery will end my diverticulitis! I will no longer have to take flagella and other medications that make me sick to my stomach, create a sense of depression and make me feel like I just want to die! I suffer from delimitating migraines and other medical problems. This illness by far out weights all of my other medical conditions. I am asking for financial support to help pay for my surgery. I need to raise the funds by December 19, so I can make the full payment on December 20th, the date of my schedule surgery.
