March 4 Mark

Myself and Dave will run the Liverpool marathon in May and then a month later walk the Leeds - Liverpool canal over 5 days, averaging a marathon a day in order to raise funds for Mark so he can always have the best in prosthetic care.
After I was blown up in Afghanistan and lost my leg. Sport, especially running has played a huge role in helping me get my life back on track. I am fortunate enough to have a high level of prosthetic care since leaving the Marines and know not everyone is afforded that same luxury.
So when my good friend Dave told me about his son Mark who was born with Fibular Hemimelia and faced life as an amputee i decided i would like to help.
With the vulnerability of the NHS Mark’s family are obviously worried about what the future has in store with regards to funding.
Loving a challenge, I asked Dave if he was up for a run. Thankfully he agreed and in May we will run the Liverpool marathon and then a month later run the Leeds - Liverpool Canal over 5 days, a total of 126 miles, with money raised going towards providing Mark with the best possible prosthetic legs and running blades as he grows up.
Hopefully this will inspire Mark to believe in himself and realise there is nothing he cannot achieve.
Please donate however Big or small and support our Summer of running.
